It is official: The Umbrella Academy season 4 will time travel to Netflix in 2024. The hit Netflix show, which will meet its apocalyptic end on Netflix with a fourth and final episode, will debut on the world’s top streaming service next year.
The announcement was made in a video posted to Netflix’s various social media accounts, in which the main cast of the TV series celebrated their characters’ shared birthdays. That’s because their characters were all born on the aforementioned date in 1989 in Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s graphic novel series of the same name, as well as its TV adaptation.

At first glance, the fun video doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. It would be easy for fans to watch The Umbrella AcademyThe cast of the series is celebrating their characters’ birthdays, enjoying the fact that season 4 is coming next year, and hoping that more information will emerge sooner rather than later.
Netflix recently unveiled the 2023 edition of Geeked Week – a free five-day virtual event where Netflix makes big announcements about upcoming movies, TV shows and games – is said to be happening soon. Maybe we’ll hear more about it then The Umbrella Academy season 4 in the near future.
But that didn’t stop ‘Brellies’ – The Umbrella Academy‘s fandom – from speculating about when the fourth and final season of one of Netflix’s best shows could debut. Likewise, fans have used their amateur detective skills to try to figure out if the announcement video is hiding clues about the top secret plot.

Let’s first speculate about a possible release date. The Umbrella Academy season 1 dropped on Netflix in February 2019, but the second and third seasons debuted on the platform in July 2020 and June 2022. According to the law of averages, season 4 is more likely to launch in mid-2024.
However, Netflix could also celebrate the main characters’ birthdays by releasing it on October 1, 2024. However, that date will fall on a Tuesday next year, which is typically not a day when Netflix releases new seasons of its most popular TV shows. .

As for story predictions, fans are putting on their Sherlock Holmes deerstalker hats to try to deduce whether the birthday celebration video dropped any plot teases.
For starters, The Sparrow Academy – an alternate reality version of The Umbrella Academy that debuted in Season 3 – is not present in the video. On Reddit, Golden_Pineapple07 noted that it was interesting that none of them appear, but that’s not a huge surprise since all but one (Sloane Hargreeves) died. Even though Sloane wasn’t in the final scene of Season 3, many fans still suspect she’s alive and well somewhere.
Meanwhile, other fans are fascinated that Luther appears to have his superpowers again. It will consist of six episodes instead of the usual ten (per Collider), all seven members of the core cast are returning, and they’ll be joined by some entirely original characters that have us worried about not only how the show will end, but also whether it will deliver a fitting end to a beloved Netflix staple series.
