An actress who is best known for starring in a period drama series had fans wowed in her latest Instagram post.

The on-screen star, who also competed on Strictly, looked unrecognizable as a stunning brunette when she took to her social media platform on Tuesday.

Best known for her peroxide blonde locks, fans of the TV veteran couldn’t believe how different she looked, but can you guess who she is?

It’s Helen George, best known for playing Trixie Franklin in the BBC drama series Call the Midwife.

Helen looked gorgeous in an off the shoulder mini dress that had a feathered neckline.

Her freshly dyed brown locks looked brilliant as they cascaded down her shoulders in soft floppy curls.

Helen sported a tan glow and accentuated her beauty with glamorous makeup.

Fans took to the comments section to talk about her new look, with some saying they didn’t recognize her at first.

Speaking on This Morning, Helen revealed that the costume and tight corsets were causing her “internal damage” and admitted that she no longer feels anything in her hips.

Speaking about the new role, Dermot asked: “When you go back to the theater, as an actor, how scary is it?”

Helen admitted: Absolutely terrifying! It is, but we shoot for six months out of the year, and aside from Covid, I’ve always tried to do some kind of theater in between.

“Because it really picks you up and revives you and I think it sharpens you up.”

Helen is best known for her role in the medical period drama, Call The Midwife.

Her character Trixie and Matthew Aylward (played by Olly Rix) had a happy ending when they got married on the show.
