The truth behind Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘flawless’ hair on Short n’ Sweet Tour

Sabrina Carpenter fans are going crazy on social media after a theory surfaced that she is actually wearing a wig during her sold-out Short n’ Sweet Tour.

Sabrina, 25, has been making waves since debuting her new hairstyle, which features face-framing layers and curtain bangs.

On TikTok, fans asked hairstylists how to achieve this look, but according to some content creators, it’s possible the famous hairstyle is actually a wig.

Many creators think the singer’s hair looks much more voluminous than when she opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour.

To find out if Sabrina rocks a wig, hair extensions, her natural locks, or a combination of all of the above, FEMAIL consulted Los Angeles-based colorist and extension specialist Beau Dieda.

On TikTok, creator Bella Sprague announced, “That’s a wig for me,” a styling choice she said she approved of because it could cause massive heat damage if Sabrina had to style her hair in retro curls every night.

The New York City-based content creator pointed out that after Sabrina appeared to be wearing a wig on the first night, the pop star appeared to be wearing extensions on the second night of the tour.

Many commenters agreed that a wig would be best to prevent heat damage and would “better suit the aesthetic.”

“I’d honestly wear a wig if it were me. It makes it so easy for you to look flawless all the time,” one commenter stated.

Some people thought Sabrina returned to her natural hair because people noticed — or because she has a lucrative partnership with her Redken as the brand’s first-ever global ambassador.

“I guess they didn’t like people clocking it,” one commenter announced.

The Taste singer’s hairstylist Scott King joined the debate and shared a hair tutorial after her show at Madison Square Garden.

Scott said he prepped Sabrina’s hair by blow-drying it to create volume, then used a curling iron.

“After the hair had cooled, I took the hair down and combed through the curls with a wide-toothed comb so that the curls parted a bit but still retained the shape of the bouncy curl,” Scott shared in his Instagram caption.

Commenters rushed to Sabrina’s defense and thanked him for the tutorial, writing, “Thanks Scott, we’ve been getting wig accusations since the tour started.”

Specialist in the field of Celeb extensions Beau Dieda told DailyMail.com: ‘Sabrina is known for her signature long, blonde hair, and although she often changes her hairstyle, she usually straightens her real hair for most public appearances and concerts.’

However, Beau clarified that “like many performers, she occasionally wears hair extensions to increase volume or length, or possibly wigs for specific looks, especially if she changes styles quickly for different performances.”

“It is not uncommon for pop stars to use wigs or extensions during concerts to meet the demands of live performances,” Beau explains.

Beau recommended using a curling iron, heat protective spray, texfoliating spray or mousse, hairspray and a boar brush and clip to get Sabrina’s style at home.

Beau explained how it is possible to get body without a wig and advised: ‘Use a texturizing spray or a light mousse to add body and movement to the hair.’

However, if you want the same volume as the Sharpest Tool singer, Beau recommends adding extensions.

“If you want to add length or volume like Sabrina Carpenter, clip-in hair extensions are a great option,” said Beau, as he wore the 7-piece clip-in set from The Hair Shop in color 60 for a similar shade.

Sabrina’s tour has started with a lot of fan theories, as the Girl Meets World alum has already hit back at TikTok content creators who accused her of lip-syncing.

After the tour started, a TikTok user posted a fan video of one of her performances and asked, “Does she ever sing live?” as another account responded, “I hate to say it, but 30 percent lip sync, 30 percent backing track, 40 percent vocals.”

Sabrina responded quickly: ‘I sing every show 100 percent live, would you like to speak to my sound engineers.’

The Espresso singer also talked about negative feedback Time magazine‘S TIME100 Next list, talking about how trolls criticize her sexy tour outfits.

“To that I just say, don’t come to the show, and that’s okay,” Sabrina said.

“It’s a shame that it was ever criticized because honestly the scariest thing in the world is being on stage in front of so many people and having to perform like it’s nothing,” Sabrina added.

“If the only thing that helps you with that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you need to do,” the Please Please Please singer said.
