The Traitors star Maia Gouveia is pregnant with her second child as she revealed her children were her motivation for throwing her sister ‘under the bus’ during a tense roundtable discussion.
The mother, who already shares a daughter with her boyfriend, was killed during Wednesday night’s episode, just one day after her sister Armani was banned for being a traitor.
And appearing together on Lorraine on Thursday morning, Maia admitted she went on the show to help with daycare and the costs of raising children.
As the host congratulated the star, she asked, “Second baby on the way and that was one of the reasons you wanted to do the show in the first place, right for your little girl?”
Maia explained: ‘The nursery is expensive and we needed to make some money. I already have one and one on the way. My main motivation was my children.”
During Friday’s tense roundtable, Maia turned on her sister Armani as she revealed her suspicions that she was a traitor, ultimately sealing her fate.

Discussing her decision, she added: “That’s why I threw her under the bus, I have kids, you don’t have kids, you don’t get it! The things I need to do for my babies. It’s different’.
Maia is almost six months pregnant after posting a recap post to her Instagram on New Year’s Eve, confirming she was expecting last August after the show filmed in May.
She wrote: ‘It’s crazy how much one year can change your whole life.
‘I won’t lie; change is not easy. It’s scary. But my life has a way of stitching itself back together, no matter the chaos.
“As the new year begins, my biggest goal is to stay hopeful, even when these pregnancy hormones and postpartum try to knock me down.”

The remaining traitors Linda and Minah decided to kill Maia because Freddie would be suspected of it after Minah accused him of being a traitor on Friday.
