The Traitors is renewed for a THIRD season before series two even airs: Here’s how YOU can apply

The Traitors returns for a third season.

Presented by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors is a nail-biting psychological reality competition in which 22 strangers play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

The majority of the participants are ‘Faithfuls’ and must figure out who among them are ‘Traitors’ – who have the ability to ‘kill’ a fellow participant every night.

The group has daily ‘bans’ in which they must vote to kick out someone they believe is a traitor, while working together on challenges to raise money for the prize fund.

The BBC series proved to be a huge success when it launched last year and fans went wild last week when a teaser trailer was released for series two.

Making a comeback: The Traitors, a nail-biting psychological reality competition hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has been renewed for a third season ahead of series two’s debut

Show bosses are confident the next installment will be another success this year and have already opened casting applications for season three.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, said: ‘The massive unscripted hit The Traitors is returning for a third series.

‘Expect more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and of course Claudia at the helm.

“It’s sure to be an exciting ride for avid fans and newcomers to the series alike. The BBC will always remain loyal to The Traitors.

Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, added: “We are pleased that a third series of The Traitors has been confirmed today, ahead of the arrival of the second series on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

‘The Traitors has been so warmly received by viewers, critics and awards juries.

“Claudia and the team look forward to keeping audiences on the edge of their seats again with increasingly exciting missions and exceptional players competing in this gripping game of bluff and skill.”
