The Traitors Australia announces celebrity cast for season two

The Traitors Australia announces celebrity cast for season two, including regular reality TV actors like Below Deck’s Hannah Ferrier, Survivor’s Luke Toki and MKR’s Ash Pollard

Channel 10 is bringing back their cloak and dagger reality TV competition series The Traitors for another season.

Despite the lackluster ratings for the show’s first season, The Traitors return with a slightly new format that will feature a mix of civilians and celebrities.

The cast includes some very familiar faces who have appeared on multiple reality TV shows in the past.

Former Below Deck Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier is the biggest name of the bunch.

She recently appeared on 10’s ill-fated dating series The Real Love Boat, which was a ratings disaster for the network last year.

Hannah is joined by Australian Survivor’s Luke Toki, who also starred on Channel Seven’s Big Brother VIP last year.

Reality TV regular Ash Pollard has also signed on for subsequent stints on My Kitchen Rules, Dancing with the Stars and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

Other names include House Husbands actor Gyton Grantley, motivational speaker Paul de Gelder and TikTok star Ian Zaro.

Channel 10 remains optimistic about the future of The Traitors, despite the show’s slow start.

Paramount ANZ’s Daniel Monaghan told TV Tonight in January that they were keen to stay with the competition series due to its critical acclaim and worldwide success.

“The Traitors didn’t set our world on fire last year, but it was such a well-crafted show…I think it deserves more attention,” he said.

Monaghan said The Traitors “deserved more audiences” and praised the production company for the way it put the series together.

“I think if you put something like The Traitors on and it doesn’t get as strong numbers as you think it deserves, you’d look at the quality of the show and think, ‘Can you grow it?’

“We will evaluate that…. especially with the performance [of the UK series]. It deserves more.’

The UK version of the series, which aired on the BBC, has become the biggest reality TV hit since Love Island, with over 3.2 million viewers tuning in to watch the finale.

British critics were impressed by the addictive series, with Christopher Stevens of the Daily Mail calling it ‘the best thing on TV for 20 years’.

American audiences were also impressed after a semi-celebrity version debuted on streaming service Peacock earlier this month.

Featuring a mix of citizens and stars, including Real Housewife Brandi Glanville and former Bachelor and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, the Alan Cumming-hosted series wowed viewers and television critics alike.
