Finding your perfect match is hard, especially when you rely on an internet algorithm to connect you with the ‘one’.

But relationship experts say there are keywords singles should include in their dating profiles to help find their most compatible partner.

Dua.com researchers analyzed the Tinder profiles belonging to more than 16,000 eligible singles and determined which words are likely to attract the attention of the opposite sex and ensure a more compatible match.

Men should highlight their love of travel, dogs and wine when trying to hook up with women, while women should tailor their profiles to mention beer, sports and exercise, the study revealed.

So how exactly should you curate your profile? MailOnline reveals the top five words single men and women mention the most on their Tinder profiles.

It’s a Match: Top 5 Terms on Women’s Dating Profiles Most Likely to Get Them a Date

Dua.com analysts reviewed the dating profiles of 8,380 heterosexual men and 8,145 women in the UK in an effort to determine which traits were most attractive to the opposite sex.

Relationship experts analyzed and categorized words related to health, eating habits, entertainment and hobbies, and pet preferences to determine which words appeared the most in profiles.

The data revealed that almost half of the women identified themselves as non-smokers, compared to just 20 percent of the men who said they did not smoke.

Similarly, a large percentage of men highlighted their love for beer, pubs and a carnivorous lifestyle, which is often left out of women’s profiles.

Valon Asani, founder of Dua.com, said the study shows that certain lifestyle choices, food preferences and favorite pets do influence a profile’s attractiveness.

“Experimenting with writing dating profile bios could be a great way to broaden the dating pool and secure more dates,” Asani said.

“Hopefully, the study results will help singles highlight these top five words that may have previously seemed unimportant to their dating efforts.”

Top 5 Words MEN Should Mention On Their Dating Profile

1. Non-smoker

1 Non smoker twenty%
2 Travel 17%
3 Dog fifteen%
4 Came eleven%
5 Coffee 10%

The term ‘non-smoker’ is the most frequently mentioned word in a woman’s dating profile, the data revealed.

Experts say 47 per cent of women listed ‘non-smokers’ in their profile, suggesting that smoking habits play a big factor in what a woman looks for in a partner.

Men may want to consider adding their smoking preferences to their profile to increase the chances of a match, the analysts suggested.

They noted that 20 percent of male profiles are missing mention of the keyword ‘non-smoker’.

2. Travel

It’s no surprise that in the age of Instagram posts captioned #wanderlust, 30 percent of women expressed their love of traveling on their dating profiles.

But only 17 percent of men mentioned traveling in their bios, the study revealed.

Experts suggest that in order to appear attractive to vacation-hungry ladies, men should consider advertising their adventurous side and displaying past travel photos on their profiles.

3. dog

Came 215 3% 1108 14%
Coffee 416 5% 1234 fifteen%
Geneva 160 2% 930 eleven%
flexitarian 113 1% 461 6%
Vegetarian 51 1% 348 4%

You must love dogs. There’s a reason John Cusak borrowed a dog to impress Diane Lane’s character in the early 2000s rom-com.

Simply put, women love dogs. Pet preferences may not seem like a top priority when looking for a romantic partner, but data reveals that 33 percent of women consider dogs “very important.”

Data shows that dogs are actually the most frequently mentioned thing on a man’s dating profile, yet women still mention them considerably more.

Relationship experts say that expressing your love for four-legged friends could increase your matches on Tinder.

4. wine

The old cliché that men drink wine and women drink beer is well documented. If that’s wrong, but imagine the possibilities for a man comfortable enough to presume that he drinks both?

14 percent of women mention wine in their dating profile bios compared to 3 percent of men.

Adding a love of wine to your dating profile can ensure more matches, as 11 percent of men’s profiles are missing this detail.

Entertainment keywords for matches
Keyword Men % of M Women % of W
Travel 1099 13% 2419 30%
Shopping 87 1% 842 10%
Music 938 eleven% 1571 19%
Fashion 94 1% 711 9%

5. Coffee

Pointing out that you like coffee is a great way to let potential partners know that you’re not one of those irritating morning people.

15 percent of the women in the study mentioned coffee in their bios.

By comparison, only 5 percent of the profiles of men in this study mentioned coffee.

Announcing your love for coffee could help you find your perfect match and would also be a great first date suggestion, because not everyone wants to go to the pub.

Top 5 Words WOMEN Should Mention On Their Dating Profile

1. beer

Men love beer and it is mentioned in 16 percent of their profiles compared to just 6 percent of women.

Rather than omit details of their favorite beer, women might consider adding this to their profile for a better chance of matching, especially since 10 percent of women’s profiles are missing mention of the keyword “beer.”

2. Sports

Top 5 Words WOMEN Should Mention On Their Dating Profile
Range Keyword % of female profiles without this information
1 Beer 10%
2 Sports 6%
3 pub 4%
4 gym rat 3%
5 carnivorous 1%

According to experts, mentioning love for sports is one of the key things women forget to do on their dating profiles.

Shockingly, 10 percent of men mention their love of sports, compared to just 3 percent of women.

Be sure to use the general term ‘sports’ for a broader scope; This can act as a conversation starter leading to your favorite sports, teams, and players.

3. bars

The pub is as sacred to a single man as a church is to a priest.

Single men spend much of their free time in pubs, which is why, unsurprisingly, they are mentioned in 10 percent of dating profiles.

Adding a love of visiting pubs could ensure more matches, as 4 per cent of female profiles are missing the word ‘pubs’.

4. Gym Rat

Health Related Keywords for Matches
Keyword Men % of M Women % of W
Non smoker 2298 27% 3857 47%
Gym 949 eleven% 1386 17%
Walking 480 6% 1386 10%
Run 199 2% 451 6%
Smoker 256 3% 457 6%

Although it has actually been shown that women mention the gym more than men, the specific term that rises for men is ‘gymrat’.

To the uninitiated, a gym rat is someone who spends an unusually large amount of time in the gym, and 17 percent of men describe themselves this way on their dating profile.

So upgrading the mention of the gym to a description of being a ‘gym rat’ could land women more matches with other active men.

5. Carnivore

Finally, we move on to eating habits and while men practice different culinary diets, the vast majority of them are still carnivores.

Of all the diets featured in the study, a meat eater is the most popular descriptor, with 11.07 percent of men and 10.55 percent of women describing themselves this way.

Although this is a fairly even distribution, there are still more men who describe themselves as carnivores than women.

Women might consider mentioning the term ‘carnivore’ for a match.
