The surprising $4.99 Aldi buy named BEST in Australia

Australia’s best coffee can be found at Aldi for less than 30 cents a cup – following the supermarket’s prestigious win at the world’s largest coffee roasting competition.

Lazzio beans – an Aldi exclusive range, roasted by Melbourne supplier Black Bag Roasters – have been crowned the Overall Large Chain Champion category at the 2024 Golden Bean Australasia Awards.

The coveted award perhaps proves that shoppers don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, as the range offers prices that every Australian can afford.

The award-winning range, featuring 10 coffee blends, also scored a further 14 Golden Bean medals in various coffee categories.

“Australia has a reputation for having some of the best coffee in the world and we pride ourselves on delivering excellent coffee to our customers,” said Daniel Quinlan, purchasing director for Aldi Australia.

“This latest win is just another step in our long-term successful partnership, and reinforcement that Australian shoppers simply can’t get enough of our coffee.

“With prices starting at just under $0.30 cents per cup, Lazzio offers high quality flavor at an affordable price, and is proudly roasted in Australia.”

Aldi partnered with the Victorian coffee roasters in 2014.
