Tourists are battling it out for the best poolside spots at hotels in Spain as the battle for the best sunbeds begins.
Dozens of towel-wrapped holidaymakers rush to their sunbeds after patiently waiting for the gates to open at 8am at Tenerife’s popular Spring Hotel.
The best spots by the pool were taken within seconds as sunbathers threw towels and clothes on the loungers to reserve them.
The comical footage was posted to TikTok with the words: ‘The only thing that lets this hotel down. Queuing for the gates to open at 8am.’
A second video on the platform shows holidaymakers securing a spot in a hotel on Spain’s Costa Dorada on the mainland.

Just a minute after the pool gates opened, holidaymakers had already reserved almost all the sun loungers after racing for the best spots

Someone said, ‘Literally running. We thought it was hilarious.’
Last week, tourists were filmed searching for sunbeds during another early morning event.
In 2023, the same hotel hired a security guard to prevent brawls as Britons rose before dawn to fight with other holidaymakers for a sunbed.
And it seems the Sunset Beach Club hotel in Benalmádena on the Costa Del Sol is still one of the worst battlegrounds for sunbed disputes.
Hundreds of Britons have to queue from the early hours of the morning if they want a chance of getting a sunbed.
A video on TikTok showed dozens of holidaymakers running to claim a sun lounger. One person commented on the platform: ‘My idea of hell.’
This happened after a Dutch woman, fed up with people taking the best spots by the pool at a Turkish resort, decided to take matters into her own hands and remove towels from sun loungers that had already been occupied the night before.
While it’s not clear who’s putting down the towels, sunbeds are the focus of countless battles between British and German tourists vying for the best spots in European resorts.
Within seconds, most of the prime spots next to the pool at the Costa Dorada hotel were already taken

And as this angry vigilante shows, the Dutch seem to be just as angry about those who wrongly claim the best slackers for themselves.
The woman, who goes by the username effi.sxx on TikTok, was walking past the pool at a Turkish resort at 2am when she saw that a whole row of sunbeds were already occupied by other hotel guests who had laid out their towels and other belongings to claim their spot.
The woman was fed up with their selfish behavior and decided to teach them a lesson. She removed their towels from the chairs by the pool.
A video posted to her TikTok account shows the woman removing yellow hotel towels from sun loungers, as well as other items left behind by tourists, including bath toys and sandals.
“Why don’t we just do it the fair way? First come, first served,” the woman captioned the video.
