The story behind Hamish Blake’s ‘offensive’ tattoo revealed: ‘He didn’t even realise’
Comedian Andy Lee told the hilarious story of how his comedian Hamish Blake accidentally got an ‘offensive’ tattoo on his arm.
Lee, 43, said Blake, 42, decided to get the iconic Olympic rings tattooed on his upper arm because they symbolized greatness, but didn’t realize how “offensive” it could be.
“Hamish got the Olympic rings tattooed on him to inspire him to greatness,” Andy said 9Entertainment.
Lee added that Hamish later discovered that many real Olympic athletes get their rings tattooed to celebrate their achievements, and they were not happy when they discovered Blake had done it without ever competing.
‘He didn’t realise how insulting that is to real Olympians. Many haven’t been so happy since they found out when they met Hamish.
“It’s clear that many Olympians get a tattoo of the rings as a sign of their achievements.”
Lee added that Hamish was fortunate enough to be able to honestly say he had been to the Olympics, if only to watch the athletes compete.

The TV star was a guest on his friend Andy Lee’s quiz show The Hundred, where he was encouraged to explain what a highly questionable tattoo depicted.
“Unfortunately, it kind of looks like a snake resting on a penis,” he said of the two squiggly lines he had tattooed on his left arm.
The Lego Masters host explained that this wasn’t what was actually drawn on his arm.

‘We had a period on our radio show where we started a band, and because I was the drummer, I had Andy and Jack [Post] ‘One for every tattoo on my arm.’
Next to the drumsticks were stick figure portraits of Andy and Jack.
However, the joker was adamant and said he had no regrets about the simple tattoos on his arm.
Lee added that Hamish later discovered that many real Olympic athletes get the rings tattooed on their bodies to mark their achievements – and were not happy when they discovered Blake was doing this without ever competing.
