The Stanley Cup is not gamer friendly

The Stanley cup is everything: Your cold drink can now survive a car fire. It holds a lot of fluid, so you’re always ready to hydrate. They are easy to carry, And they are beautiful; Stanley is always releasing new, seductive colors. But there’s one thing the Stanley Cup isn’t: gamer-friendly.

The fatal flaw of the Stanley cup is that it is not leak proof, something you would expect from one $50 water bottle. Anyone who’s ever played a PC game with a drink probably knows this scenario: you’re peacefully scavenging for resources Lego Fortnite when your mouse hand gets a little too close to your drink and spills its contents onto your now sizzling keyboard. It’s a disaster! At best, your keyboard will have to spend a night in a bucket of rice; worst-case scenario, you’ll break out your wallet for a new keyboard.

Due to the leaking issue – which is a hot topic on TikTok – the Stanley cup is not gamer safe, which is a devastating loss for me, someone who was looking for a water bottle to match my cute gaming setup.

In addition to gamers, sports coaches are essentially waging a war against Stanley Cups. (Well, at least one of them.) In a viral TikTok video that has racked up 2.5 million views and thousands of comments, a basketball coach shows off the set of Stanley cups her team brings to practice… all over the sofa and floor. Not safe! (I tried taking a Stanley-style cup to hockey practice, and it wasn’t ideal there either – I couldn’t reach the straw through the cage of my helmet. A devastating rookie mistake.)

If you’re looking for a vessel to drink your G Fuel from, I’ve got you. (I can’t say no to a trendy water bottle, so I have a lot of experience.) A classic Nalgene? Not so cute, but functional and spill-resistant. There is also the Hydro Flask with foldable straw capso you can sip – cute And spill-resistant. However, my assessment of the following water bottle is: is Owala’s FreeSip; the colors are perfect, and, crucially, it doesn’t leak.
