The Sims 4 FINALLY introduces polyamory in free update
The newest Sims4 expansion pack is all about ROMANCE! Called Blinded by lovethe package’s big features will include a dating app, ups and downs and different romantic relationship dynamics, along with a whole new world to explore. But the dating-themed benefits won’t be limited to the expansion; there will be a patch for all Sims4 players were timed for the pack’s release, and it will introduce polyamory features! Finally!
The official Sims Blog described the new Romantic Boundaries system, which is customizable for all Sims and separates physical and emotional exclusivity.
Free to all players is the new Romantic Boundaries system, which allows you to customize your Sim’s experience with boundaries and jealousy. You can now determine how your Sims approach romantic relationships in terms of physical and emotional romantic exclusivity. This allows Sims to date multiple Sims without it affecting other relationships.
Players have been asking for some kind of polyamory feature for decades, so it’s great that it’s finally coming. Previous updates have allowed players to define their Sims’ romantic and sexual orientation, as well as their gender expression. It’s another step in making The Sims 4 more realistic.
Sims have been notoriously jealous in romantic relationships since the days of the original Sims game. In The Sims 2for example, if Sim A had a crush on Sim B (even if they weren’t in a relationship!), they would get jealous if Sim B WooHoo’d with Sim C while they were all on the same lot (not even directly in front of Sim A!) . Later games have toned down this romantic jealousy, but it does make casual dating in The Sims difficult. And have a Sim polycule? Virtually impossible without mods!
(Of course, that never stopped us, Johnny Smith-Ophelia Nigmos-Ripp Grunt polyamory shippers – shoutout to the 2008 Sims 2 LiveJournal scene.)
The Sims 4: In Love will be available on July 25, and the patch will also be released sometime around that time.
