As we enter the fall months, The Sims 4 will explore the terrifying subject of life and death. Electronic Arts shared a news item on Thursday, revealing upcoming kits, events, and the next expansion for the life simulator game. Life and death will be an expansion pack that focuses on the mortality and afterlife of our beloved Sims. We can expect the return of the Grim Reaper on such an occasion.
Two new kits are releasing on September 19: the Artist Studio Kit and the Storybook Nursery Kit. The first kit is for creative Sims who love to write, paint, or sculpt; it offers new items to spruce up a studio. The second kit is for those who love to raise their baby Sims, giving them elaborate and sophisticated nurseries.
There will also be free items available through the Reaper’s Rewards event. The Reaper’s Rewards event is coming to the base game on September 24th. We’re not sure what that event entails, but it will lead up to the reveal of the Life and death expansion pack on October 3, before its full release on Halloween.
The Sims 4 is a decade old, but Electronic Arts is still releasing various packs to round out elements of the game. This will likely be the only Sims game on our plates for a while; The Sims 5also known as Project Rene, is still in a relatively early stage of development.
At the moment, Sims can die, haunt their old homes, and even come back to life through some rare and esoteric methods. We’ll have to see how Life and death builds on that cycle, but hopefully it will give me the opportunity to spend some more one-on-one time with the Grim Reaper – he seems like a cool guy.
