The Simpsons have once again shown their need for a crystal ball to predict future events, this time anticipating a special appearance almost 30 years before the partnership was first announced.
In the penultimate episode of the seventh season of the successful American sitcom The Simpsons, which aired in 1996, the Californian rap group Cypress Hill announced a performance with the London Symphony Orchestra.
In the episode Homerpalooza, Homer takes his family to the rock festival Hullabalooza, put on a play Lollapalooza, in an attempt to prove his reputation to them.
The family is allowed backstage through security, where they witness a magical but unusual collaboration between Cypress Hill and the London Symphony Orchestra.
This summer the legendary rap trio will really share the stage with the London Symphony Orchestra, with a special rendition of their album Black Sunday.

During the episode of The Simpsons, a surprised coordinator asked backstage, “Hello bands, who’s playing with the London Symphony Orchestra?”
No one responded, much to his annoyance, and he continued, “Come on people, someone ordered the London Symphony Orchestra, possibly while high!”
He then accused the hip-hop group of ordering the musicians to play with them, saying, “Cypress Hill, I’m looking in your direction.”
The panicked Californian collective then whispered to each other, “Hey man, did we order an orchestra? What about this orchestra, where does this orchestra come from?’
A member of the trio continued: “No one told me about this man. We have to do something,” before answering the coordinator, “Yes, yes, that’s what we think.”
Turning to the orchestra, who were all dressed up and wearing black tuxedos, he asked, “Do you know Insane in the Brain?”
The orchestra’s violinist admitted, “We know mostly classical…but we can give it a try.”
Their collaboration impressed Marge who beamed, “Now this, I like it.”
After the episode in the mid-1990s, fans of the popular rap group hoped that the on-screen prank would one day become a reality, and almost thirty years later they have confirmed it.
Cypress Hill said: “We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra at such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It’s a dream come true, a collaboration that only The Simpsons could have predicted.”
The group will play with the orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall on July 10.
Tickets go on sale March 27 at 10 a.m., where fans can see the Californian collective perform songs from their ’90s album Black Sunday, among other hits.
