“It’s even more apparent when Krusty is shown without makeup on or in the episode Homer the Clown, where they look more or less identical.”
The user said the common look was “not pure coincidence” as it is “a defining part of Krusty’s character and a key element to the relationship between Krusty, Homer and Bart.”
The user noted the irony that even though Bart showed no respect for his father and is just a brat, he idolizes Krusty the Clown.”
The user noted how the creators of the iconic animated show initially “intended Homer to actually be Krusty the Clown as a sort of secret identity.”

“We were in such a hurry in the beginning of the series that I thought, ‘Oh, it’s too complicated,’ so we just dropped it,” said Groening. “But when I look at Krusty, I think, ‘Yeah, that’s Homer.'”
