The shocking moment ‘a staff member’ PUNCHES a teenage linesman to the floor in a sudden mid-game attack
Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a young linesman was punched in the face by a member of staff from a rival football team in North Wales.
The North Wales Coast Football Association match at Amlwch Town saw Clwb Pêl-Droed Penrhyndeudraeth put eight past the hosts in a hugely one-sided affair, but things quickly turned sour after the whistle blew.
As one of the visiting players volunteered to act as a linesman for the league match, a figure from the Amlwch staff appeared to attack the player after just 15 minutes of action.
Video footage shows the stunning moment, with two crossing paths on the sidelines.
It is not clear if anything is said between the two before the Amlwch figure steps forward and aims a punch at the linesman’s chin, causing him to fall to the ground.

The linesman appears stunned for a few seconds and stands back up as the staffer returns to their bench, before Penrhyn boss Riccardo Pellegrino walks over and helps his player to his feet.
The rest of the Penrhyn team then rush to the scene, but Pellegrino prevents any conflict by leading them away, although the team remains nearby.
One of Pellegrino’s assistants then appears to talk to the figure who directed the blow in an attempt to calm him down, while other players from the home bench then walk over to him.
The shocking attack has been reported to North Wales Police, as reported by both the NWCFA and Penrhyn.
The club’s statement read: ‘A fantastic result and performance from the boys today.
‘Unfortunately the match was marred by an incident which occurred approximately 15 minutes into the match when a Penrhyn player, who was acting as a volunteer linesman, was attacked.
‘The Club has no further comment to make but will support the player now that the matter has been reported to the police.’
The NWCFA added: ‘The North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) is aware of a video circulating on social media relating to an incident at Amlwch Town FC. This incident is currently under investigation by police, with NWCFA requesting details.
‘Although this is an ongoing investigation, we would urge people not to share the video or comments as it could impact the investigation.
“The incident will be investigated accordingly following completion of the police investigation.”
Penrhyn would win the match 8-0 in a dominant display in the amateur competition.
Cai Henshaw scored four points in the big win, while Tom Hughes scored twice and Deio Hughes and Gwion Davis got the other two.
Pellegrino added on Facebook after the incident: ‘Your behavior on the pitch after what happened was impeccable, I am proud to coach this fantastic group of boys.
‘I’m proud of all of you COYC.’
Wales FA CEO confirmed on social media that they are aware of the incident and have condemned the attack.
