Hannah Chody, from Austin, Texas, has caused quite a stir online after revealing her bizarre bedtime routine, which she claims leaves even the most exhausted people perfectly rested
The influencer took to TikTok to share her complex set-up, which makes her look like “someone being held hostage”
In the clip, which has been viewed more than 10.3 million times to date, Hannah is speaking directly to the camera as she begins, “So my husband says I look like someone being held hostage when I sleep at night.
“And I’ll be honest with that, but it’s the best night’s sleep ever—so I’m going to show you how I sleep.”
She lists everything that is needed, including a sound machine, mouth tape, sleeping mask, ‘sleeping crown’ and a face pillow that helps you sleep on your back.
Hannah turns on her sound machine before walking her 82,000 followers through her routine.
She starts by turning on her sound machine before putting her sleep mask on her head.
The influencer then lays back on her bed and puts her “sleep crown” pillow over her head and her eyes.
Hannah continues by sealing her mouth with the tape, using a prepackaged cross-shaped sticker that she sticks over the center of her lips.
Mouth taping is an increasingly popular home treatment used by people who have trouble breathing through their nose while they sleep – and is said to help prevent a scratchy throat, bad breath and snoring.

The social media star said the key was using a ‘sleep crown’ and face pillow that help you sleep on your back
However, doctors have warned of the dangers of the wellness trend, warning that it could be particularly risky for anyone suffering from sleep apnea.
Still, Hannah is convinced the technique has been nothing but successful in helping her get a full night’s rest, saying to the camera as she removes the tape, “It’s best to sleep soundly.”
The social media star then puts both her arms down with her hands flat.
Hannah uploaded the clip alongside a caption that read, “This is so specific, but life-changing sleep is important, what can I say.”
But dozens of other social media users were skeptical and quick to comment on the unusual routine.
But other social media users weren’t impressed, as one wrote: ‘All these things would keep me from sleeping’
One user wrote, “Even watching other people put on mouth tape makes me feel like I’m suffocating.”
Another added, “I’d have a panic attack trying to sleep with all that LOL.”
Another commented, “All these things would keep me from sleeping…”
And a fourth said, ‘What the hell. Are you OK? Do you need hugs? Is this for real? Do you have bad nightmares or something?’
