The Script singer Danny O’Donoghue has reworked the lyrics of one of the band’s hit singles to pay tribute to Manchester United’s FA Cup final hero Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo scored Man United’s crucial second goal at Wembley on Saturday, adding to Alejandro Garnacho’s opener against Man City.
The academy graduate’s strike ultimately proved the winner, with Jeremy Doku pulling one goal back for Premier League champions Man City late in the match.
Man United supporter O’Donoghue shared his post on social media after the Red Devils’ victory, with the Irish singer singing a reworked version of The Script hit ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’.
O’Donoghue’s new lyrics were a tribute to Man United’s teenage goalscorers, but also a nod to the uncertainty surrounding manager Erik ten Hag’s future.

City rallied late on thanks to Jeremy Doku’s consolation, but United held firm and prevented their rivals from making more history and scoring a double.
