The scathing ‘exit’ letter from a Seattle police officer, blaming the chief’s ‘failed leadership’ and ‘spineless’ mayor for playing politics and turning the city into ‘playground for anarchists and criminals’

A female Seattle cop wrote a ruthless exit letter when she retired, blaming the police chief’s “failed leadership” for letting criminals take over the city.

Lieutenant Jessica Taylor, who served 23 years with the Seattle Police Department, tendered her resignation — but instead of filling out a mandatory exit survey, she decided to write a long-winded letter addressed to the police chief.

In her own brutal words, she told Chief Adrian Diaz why she decided to retire in an “unfiltered, raucous and unapologetic” 15-page diatribe.

Taylor didn’t mince words – attacking nearly every facet of law enforcement in the city, condemning them for completely failing the general public.

She began the scathing letter with, “This is going to be a brutally long letter, but after 23+ years I have a few things to say.

Taylor also took a gander at the Seattle City Council – calling the institution “absurd,” before describing the mayor as “spineless” and bashing “the clemency of the prosecutor’s office.” But her main address was to the police chief – Adrian Diaz (pictured)

“Each page is initialed so no one can perform the typical SPD routine, “I don’t know what happened. It was just automatically deleted.”

Taylor said the “toxic” police department “turned out to be nothing more than a circus, with rambunctious clowns running amok.”

She called her time in the department “soul-draining.”

In addition, she slammed the police chief’s “failed leadership,” which “accelerated the descent of this city to rock bottom.”

She told Diaz, “You’ve willingly become a puppet, a spineless ‘yes man’ perfectly prepared to throw the entire department under the bus to get your coveted spot as chief, complete with a posh corner office.”

“Your approach smacks of a desperate hunger for control rather than genuine understanding and respect for our officers’ autonomy.

“Your controlling, bullying, and gaslighting tendencies have wreaked havoc on this department, driving away talented and dedicated officers.”

She added, “You’re a vindictive, power-hungry person, and I wouldn’t trust you as far as I can throw it.

“You offered me the chance for an honest exit interview, and here it is. I will always stand up for what is right and what I believe in….even when I am alone.”

Turning her attention to Seattle, she said the city is “a playground for anarchists and criminals” who have taken it by storm — and that those in charge are “totally unconcerned about the devastating consequences of their actions.”

Seattle, in Taylor’s words, has become the laughing stock of the whole world.

She added: “People are getting hurt and killed in this city, left and right.

“I bet most Seattle residents would love to be able to walk out at night or stroll into downtown Seattle and not be scared.

“But they can’t, and that’s your fault. You failed them. You have failed us.’

Taylor called for an investigation, saying, “I hope with every fiber of my being that some outside agency is investigating you thoroughly.

“Your character is questionable at best, and the citizens of this once great city deserve to know the truth—everything.”

Speaking to the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, the former lieutenant said, “I wanted to date the truth.

“The officers on the street are the backbone of this department.

And they will do everything they can and fight tooth and nail to make sure the public is taken care of

She ended the letter with, “Did you seriously get into the Taylor Swift concert and go to the front where people paid $1000 to be there?”

“And don’t you dare say it was work related, because you haven’t done any police work in years… if ever.

“If yes, please read SPD manual section 5.001(12) & 5.020 and report to OPA immediately.”

A spokesman for the Seattle Police Department responded, “While we are not addressing staffing issues, the Seattle Police Department is working with our city partners to reduce the department to more than 1,400 officers.

“We want our agents to feel valued and respected for their hard work every day. We are committed to routinely highlighting that work.”
