Actor Thomas Guiry, best known for playing the role of Scotty Smalls in the 1993 comedy The Sandlot, was arrested earlier this month in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in connection with a series of violent incidents involving his neighbor.
Horry County Sheriff’s officials said TMZ that Guiry was taken into custody on June 2 on charges of assault, disorderly conduct and malicious damage.
Surveillance footage of the incident published by the outlet showed Guiry launching a dumbbell estimated to weigh 35 pounds at the window of a white Jeep in his neighbor’s driveway, cracking the windshield.
In another clip published on the site, taken from the neighbor’s doorbell camera, Guiry was seen appearing angry as he stood shirtless at the entrance to the neighbor’s home with a knife in hand.
Police told the station that when they arrived to a disturbance call, Guiry was standing in the middle of the street asking for his wife.

His neighbor said, “Really? My window is shattered,” at which point Guiry promised to reimburse the neighbor for the damage to the vehicle, according to police.
Guiry told the neighbor, according to law enforcement officials, “That sucks man, I’ll pay you back, I’m sorry, I’ll get you back.”
Guiry also admitted at the scene that he was responsible for the damage, saying, “I did it.” I’m sorry dude. I’ll come back for you…I…sorry brother, I’ll pay you back.”
Guiry has had run-ins with the law in the past, when he was taken into custody in August 2013 in connection with a crime against a police officer after he headbutted a police officer at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, TMZ reported at the time.
In the incident, police told the station that Guiry became hostile after a United Airlines employee said he was too drunk to be allowed on a flight.
Police told the outlet that the officer told him he could be taken to a drunk-fueling facility or arrested on public intoxication charges.
Guiry snapped at the officer, tried to kick him and then hit him with a headbutt before being taken into custody, police told TMZ.
Guiry was then transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and released on $1,000 bail on June 3. Page six reported.

His role in The Sandlot spawned the film’s signature line: “You’re killing me, Smalls,” said in the film by actor Patrick Renna’s character Ham Porter.
After The Sandlot, in which he appeared at the age of 11, Guiry has continued to act over the years.
His most notable projects outside of baseball film include the 2001 film Black Hawk Down and 2003’s Mystic River, as well as appearances in multiple Law & Order episodes.
Guiry played himself in a 2022 comedy titled Killin Smallz with Goodfellas stars Tony Darrow and Joseph D’Onofrio.
