The Rock breaks his silence on ‘unforgettable’ WWE return following RAW appearance… and insists he is ready to ‘make history, raise the bar and do things that have never been done before’

The Rock has spoken for the first time since returning to the WWE and vowed to “make history” with the company.

The 51-year-old made a shocked return to the company on January 1 and confronted Jinder Mahal, but appeared to call out his real-life cousin and undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

He is touted to challenge Reigns at WrestleMania, with the current champion’s storyline focusing on his real family, specifically Jimmy and Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa, for much of his reign.

Cody Rhodes, who lost to Reigns at ‘Mania’ last year, looked set to get his rematch on the show or shows, but The Rock’s return has raised doubts, leaving fans eagerly awaiting who will be in the main event .

While it’s still possible that Rhodes could get his match, The Rock appears to be here to stay. This week he took to Instagram to break his silence since his appearance on RAW.

“These ‘exciting’ nights are so special and unforgettable,” he said. ‘The connection with the people, the energy, atmosphere, authenticity, disruption, love, mana – the chills.

“And now we’re making history, raising the bar and doing things never done before in @wwe. We’re all about it. And everything in it.’

In the post, a video of his return, The Rock described the WWE as “home” and said “it never gets old.”

“I am so infinitely grateful that I can not only connect with the audience, but also stand in the middle of the ring and rock ‘n’ roll,” he added.

It has long been thought that The Rock was the final hurdle to overcome in his family for Reigns, who is currently on a three-year reign.

Late last year, it was revealed that the WWE came together to try to come up with a plan for how the two could face off, but shelved all ideas for the time being.

However, The Rock’s return complicates matters as the battle for the ‘Mania’ main event is underway

“North Star’s thinking was, ‘Okay, let’s not do something good, let’s not do something great, let’s do something unprecedented,’” The Rock said on the Pat McAfee show last year after a one-off appearance in the WWE .

“We can have the match, but the bigger idea was, what can we do for the fans of this company that we love, where WrestleMania isn’t the end of something, but actually the beginning of something bigger?

“We got really close, but we couldn’t really figure out what that thing was. So we decided to put down our pencils. Then we agreed, “Hey, listen, there’s a merger coming, eventually it will happen, there’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia…

‘I say that is also a possibility, I am open to it. But again, let’s find out what that is, because the fans deserve something incredible and unprecedented, and not only that, but I also want to mean something to the locker room and the guys and girls there who are working hard. * out.

“What can we do to put them in a position where they’re part of something that’s a new change, an era in this world of pro wrestling?”
