The Rock has discussed his WrestleMania 41 status with a concerned fan amid reports he could miss the event next year.
Dave Meltzer wrote in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week he shared that the legendary wrestler was currently “not scheduled for the show,” with a source adding that The Rock’s schedule was becoming “too demanding” to fully dedicate himself to the event.
That report has apparently made its way to some fans, with one asking ‘The People’s Champ’ directly in his Instagram comments if he would be appearing at the event next April.
‘Are you really not working mania 41??? Say it isn’t so,’ they said wrote.
The artist, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, responded on Saturday evening with an emphatic comment of his own.
The Rock assured a fan that he would be attending next year’s WrestleMania in Las Vegas, Nevada
He will reportedly face real-life cousin Roman Reigns (right) in a triple threat match
“Don’t believe any of that nonsense**,” he wrote.
The Rock returned to WWE last Saturday night at Bad Blood after the main event, which featured Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
However, he has not been in contact with either of them, so it is currently unclear whether or not he will side with them.
A report during a recent WrestleVotes Q and A on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass suggested that the trio will participate in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania.
“I can tell you this is on the table,” the report said.
“I’m not sure it’s been finalized one way or another. It’s October. I doubt it’s been finalized yet, but that idea has been floated and I think it makes the most sense for the company to get those three guys in the ring.”
There were initially plans to have The Rock and Reigns clash at Wrestlemania this year, but WWE changed course to pit Reigns against Rhodes after intense fan backlash.
Next year’s Wrestlemania will take place April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
