The Right-Wing Christian Group and the Battle for End-of-Life Care – Podcast
Doctors who treat seriously ill babies and children are citing cases of “significant moral distress” that they say is caused by the actions of a right-wing Christian group involved in several end-of-life lawsuits.
The Northern England editor of The Guardian, Josh Halliday, tells Hannah Moore that while the Christian Legal Center is not a household name, it has become very influential in high-profile end-of-life cases in recent years.
The CLC was part of legal action in which they represented Charlie Gard’s parents, Alfie Evans and Archie Battersbee, among others.
An appeal court judge last year expressed “deep concern” about the use of “manipulative trial tactics” in the case of Indi Gregory, a seriously ill girl who died on November 13 after a legal battle over her treatment.
