The relationship between Microsoft Teams and OneDrive is about to get even tighter

Finding the files you need in Microsoft Teams should soon be a lot easier thanks to a new update from the company.
The video conferencing service has revealed that it will add the ability to delete or rename files in a channel and in your OneDrive folder in Teams.
Going forward, this means that users of Microsoft’s cloud storage platform should have a much easier time finding and modifying the files they need most within Teams, and making sure they’re labeled the way they want.

The Microsoft 365 roadmap (opens in new tab) entry explains how now users should just open the Files tab and select the desired file and then select More options (the three dots) in the file.
To rename or delete a file from your OneDrive, select More at the bottom of the Microsoft Teams app, then select Files. When the desired file is selected, click on the three dots and choose to rename or delete it.
The change will initially only be available to Microsoft Teams iOS users, but a wider rollout should happen soon. The feature has a planned release date of October 2022, meaning users won’t have to wait too long to access it.
Opening and sharing files in and between Microsoft Teams has long been a tough challenge for users, with the company having to intervene several times with new tweaks and features.
This includes an improved UI for users to share their screen and content during a conference call, as well as a change to the share tray location, which is now housed in the main menu, making it much easier for users to access files when needed.
Microsoft OneDrive has also had several upgrades recently in an effort to be more intuitive and user-friendly, with the toolset receiving a new feature that allows it to automatically rename files without annoying users with warnings that their files or folders are not. well synchronized.
The change should even apply to files with names that contain invalid characters, with asterisks, forward and backward slashes, and even colons in between
