The reality of living in Sydney: Couple shock as they give a tour of their overpriced tiny apartment – and the bizarre reason they can’t use one crucial room in the home

Love Island Australia viewers have been shocked to discover how a couple from the 2022 season lives.

Claudia Bonifazio and her reality TV co-star and boyfriend Austen Bugeja, who won season four of the show, gave a tour of their Sydney apartment in a recent TikTok video.

In the clip, the couple revealed that they pay $650 a week for their loft home, which initially appears to offer a decent and “nice” living space.

But the house has several flaws, which Claudia and Austen pointed out in the TikTok.

“We always wanted a loft apartment,” Austen said. “But I can’t even fit upstairs!”

The 24-year-old then tried to climb the attic stairs before finding himself standing in the low-ceilinged attic space with a crooked neck.

Claudia, 25, and Austen admitted they initially wanted their double bed upstairs, but because Austen is ‘too big’ their small sleeping space is under the stairs in a corner.

“You can’t possibly fit in this bed,” the interviewer said, shocked.

‘I know. My feet are hanging off,” Austen replied.

It was also revealed that the couple do not have a kitchen in their home, but there is a shared communal area that they admit they don’t use.

“We can’t cook here,” Austen said. “You can’t cook in this building.”

Claudia agreed, admitting that they “didn’t know” there was a “zoning” issue before signing the lease.
