Premier League clubs have begun releasing their home and away kits for the upcoming 2024-25 season, with most sticking to traditional colours to give that nostalgic feel.
But not Arsenal, as the Gunners have once again released a completely new design and colourway, the likes of which the North London club have never seen before.
Adidas once again comes up with a bold and eye-catching new design, similar to last year’s fluorescent yellow away kit, which became a hit despite initial resistance.
This season’s away kit features a new colour combination: black, green, red and white, normally associated with the continent of Africa.
A statement from the club revealed the real reason for choosing the design: ‘Introducing our new 2024/25 away kit, in collaboration with adidas and British-African heritage brand Labrum’.

The statement revealed more about the unusual colour scheme and went on to say that as a club, ‘we celebrate our bond with our African supporters by drawing inspiration from the design traditions of the continent.
‘This shirt features the traditional Pan-African colours of black, red and green and features a striking white zigzag graphic, designed by Foday Dumbuya, founder of Labrum London.
‘These colours and cultural cues together form a mural of our past and present connection with the African diaspora in London and beyond, highlighting the rich cultural heritage within the team and our supporters.’

Arsenal and Adidas’ collaboration on the shirt, said Foday Dumbuya, founder of Labrum London: ‘As a second-generation immigrant growing up in London, I saw some incredible Arsenal players with African roots.
‘These players were great role models for me, playing the game beautifully but also representing the wider community that I am connected to.
‘As a club, Arsenal has a strong bond with the community and I am extremely proud to have worked with them on this design.’
