According to an official from the industries ministry, the Rajasthan government plans to introduce an investment-friendly industrial policy soon.

“The process of formulating a new industrial policy by the state government is underway. This will provide new employment opportunities to the youth,” the official said.

He said the new Industrial Policy-2024 will be based on ease of doing business and sustainability.

The new policy will focus on setting up theme industrial parks and smooth transportation of goods. Industry contributes about 24 percent to the state’s GDP.

The policy will also promote the use of green technology and research and development.

Besides, a Rajasthan Petro Zone (RPZ) is planned in Balotra along with a defence manufacturing centre. A search for the area where it will be established has already begun, the official added.

In order to attract global companies to the state, an ‘Amrit Global Technology and Application Centre’ would be set up in Jaipur at a cost of Rs 200 crore. This would be a single-window setup to attract investments from global companies.

The official said that as part of the policy, infrastructure facilities would be improved at a textile park in Bhilwara, a ceramics park in Bikaner, an industrial and logistics hub near Bandikui-Dausa, a solar panel manufacturing park in Kankani/Rohat-Pali, a biomass pellet and chemical manufacturing park in Banswara, a tile manufacturing park in Kishangarh-Ajmer and a handicrafts park in Jodhpur.

He said this would give impetus to new investment in these parks once the facilities are world-class.

In addition, an amount of over Rs 175 crore has been planned for improving infrastructure in the industrial areas of the Rajasthan State Industrial & Development Corporation (RIICO).
