Sarah Harris has admitted one of her TV moments was almost a disaster.
The Sunday Project star told her co-hosts during this weekend’s episode that she once dropped her microphone on the toilet seconds before she was due to go live.
“I dropped my microphone in the toilet, this was minutes before the very first time I filled in for the Queen, Sandra Sully, and read the news in Sydney,” Sarah explained.
“I had five minutes to go to the bathroom and I had these microphones on and I was busy doing my last nervous pee before the bulletin,” she continued.
“I pulled my pants down and heard a pop, pop,” Sarah said, realizing with horror that she had dropped her microphone package in the toilet.
“I wrapped it in toilet paper, pulled my pants back up, left the zipper undone, and ran outside.”
Her crew was less than impressed, explaining, “Audio is screaming at me. I ask, “Can I put this in rice or something?” They said you have to get on with it.”
Fortunately, it worked for Sarah and the live cross went ahead as planned despite her panic.

This comes after Austin Butler made quite an impression on the Australian TV presenter last Monday night.
The American actor appeared on The Project, where he sat for an interview with Harris.
However, the 32-year-old’s intense gaze was too much for the television journalist, who admitted he had made her “nervous”.
“When you’re sitting so close to one of the biggest movie stars in the world, it’s hard not to get a little nervous,” the 42-year-old admitted.
“You do this when you look into someone’s soul, I get it now… You have a very penetrating gaze,” she added.

“You have a piercing stare too,” Austin teased back, to which a blushing Sarah replied, “Do I have that too?”
“Yes, I would say so,” Austin drawled as Sarah giggled. “You’re making me nervous now!”
It was Austin who was recently star-struck.
While promoting his latest film The Bikeriders, Todaythe Golden Globe winner told host Savannah Guthrie about an actor he was too shy to talk to after what could have been an impromptu meeting.
“I was just telling that story about how I was recently hit on by Ryan Gosling,” he said.
“That’s what happens when you don’t expect to see someone,” he said, adding: “I saw him outside the hotel I was staying at and I had to go in through another door. I couldn’t say ‘hello.’
“I grew up admiring him so much, so… I love that feeling,” the Dune: Part Two star admitted.
