The Project stars poke fun at their own network after sharing footage of a woman slamming a Channel 10 reporter ‘because they’re not from Channel Seven’
Channel 10 has been fighting a losing battle in the ratings against its commercial rivals all year.
And on Thursday, The Project took the time to poke fun at their own network’s poor performance and seemingly low reputation among the public.
Regular panelist Sam Taunton introduced a clip of a woman allegedly slamming a Channel 10 reporter because ‘they weren’t from Channel Seven’.
Sharing the video on social media with the caption: ‘If you’re a big fan of Channel Seven but end up on Channel 10’, the woman, who is sitting behind the wheel of a car, appears confused as she faces the is first approached by the reporter.
When the Channel 10 journalist asks them about the story they are telling, the woman interrupts them and asks, “Is it (for) Channel Seven?”

But when the journalist reveals that they are from 10, the woman simply says, “Oh.”
Sam, 30, could barely control his as he introduced the clip, which had The Project’s live audience laughing wildly.
The Sydney-born comedian then decided to give the unknown woman the boot:
“Well, I mean, she’s not watching, so we can say whatever we want about her,” he joked, before quickly adding, “Please pay attention to us, we’re one of the best networks.”
Sam has developed a profile as a prankster on 10’s struggling current affairs programme.
Last month the clever prankster pranked the team live on air when he pretended to have a sudden nosebleed.

It comes after research published in February found The Project had lost a third of its national audience in 12 months.
The audience decline coincides with growing criticism of The Project’s left-wing bias and the recent departures of several high-profile presenters, including Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar and Lisa Wilkinson.
Meanwhile, Channel 10’s overall ratings have struggled in 2023 after a similarly dismal performance last year.
The network’s regular audience share comes a distant third behind its commercial rivals Channel Seven and Channel Nine.
