Alex de Minaur was speechless during an interview with The Project on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old Australian tennis star appeared bewildered when presenter Georgie Tunny quizzed him about his sex symbol status and compared his appearance to that of a rat.
“Did you know you’ve been voted Australia’s sexiest rodent friend?” she said in her fiery interview.
The gorgeous star, who is currently in a relationship with 28-year-old British tennis champion Katie Boulter, appeared surprised by the backhanded compliment.
“No, I didn’t know that. I don’t know whether to be happy about that or take it as a dig,” he replied.
Georgie assured him that the award was ‘meant as a compliment.’
According to social media influencers, ‘hot rodent boyfriends’ are the ideal partner for heterosexual women under 25.
Online they are described as ‘unusually attractive’ and often ‘thin and lanky’.

The awkward exchange comes after Alex and girlfriend Katie reveal the tricks they used to keep their romance a secret in the early stages of their courtship.
The Australian and the Briton have been together since 2020 and melted the hearts of sports fans last year when they played together in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon.
In a video for Tennis TV in April, the couple confirmed that they initially kept their relationship hidden from their fellow players and the public.
Katie began, “Remember when we used to have breakfast at separate tables?”

Alex replied, “That was in the early stages. We went to breakfast at different times.”
The blonde then confirmed that it was often ‘different times, like 10 minutes later.’
Alex – who clearly enjoyed the trip down memory lane – added that it was a deliberate move to ‘avoid speculation’
“It’s so true, people don’t even realize it,” Katie replied.
That comes as Alex broke into the top 10 for the first time earlier this year, while Katie set a personal best in March by reaching No. 27 on the WTA circuit.
Rumors of the couple’s engagement continue to circulate, with Boulter spotted wearing a ring while sitting on the sidelines during one of De Minaur’s matches at the Australian Open in January.
Alex will play a doubles exhibition match this weekend in New York with Australian champion Nick Kygrios, the Ultimate Tennis Showdown.
