A woman allegedly murdered by her son at the popular beach holiday park where she lived has been described as a quiet woman who kept to herself.

Zachary Mills, 30, was charged in court on Tuesday over the alleged attack that left his mother Christine Mills, 58, at her holiday park in Coffs Harbor on the NSW north coast last Wednesday.

She was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries, where she fought for her life for five days.

A days-long police surveillance resulted in Mills’ arrest in Queensland on Sunday on outstanding arrest warrants before appearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court the following day, where NSW Police successfully applied for an extradition warrant.

Mills has since been extradited to NSW and was charged with DV’s murder on Tuesday after his mother succumbed to her injuries a day earlier.

The court heard on Tuesday that Ms Mills allegedly told police she was ‘scared’ of him before leaving her with serious injuries.

It is understood Mrs Mills has significant mobility problems due to a spinal cord injury and previously told police she was ‘scared’ of her son. The era reported.

She also told police she was afraid her son was stealing money from her.

Mills appeared at Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday, where documents showed he seriously injured Mrs Mills last Wednesday.

Police were called to Big 4 Park Beach Holiday Park on Ocean Parade, Coffs Harbor at about 5.25pm ​​and found Ms Mills with injuries to her face.

Police were told that a man, believed to be Mills, had left the property before officers arrived.

The last AVO she sought against her son was issued in June and banned him from seeing his mother for 12 hours after drinking alcohol or taking drugs.

Mills was also prohibited from stalking, harassing, intimidating, assaulting or threatening Ms. Mills, or damaging her property.

It is understood his father and ex-partner also had AVOs against him.

Mills is further charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Mrs Mills, and with twice breaching a domestic violence order on September 30 and October 2 in Coffs Harbour.

Documents tendered to Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday allege the 30-year-old murdered Ms Mills between 5pm and 5.30pm on October 2.

It is understood police issued an arrest warrant for Mills when he allegedly first breached the domestic violence order on September 30.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Coffs Harbor Local Court on December 10.
