The planets of Star Wars Outlaws can be traversed in five minutes on a speeder and are about three times the size of the map zones of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Massive Entertainment has shared brand new details about Star Wars Banditsplanets and revealed how big they really are.

In a recent interview with IGNMassive Entertainment Creative Director Julian Gerighty and Game Director Mathias Karlson offered new insights into the planetary designs of their upcoming open-world Star Wars game and were able to confirm how travel in a galaxy far, far away works.

According to Gerighty, it will take “four or five minutes non-stop” to complete the first moon you visit in the game, Toshara, on your speeder. He compared the size of the maps in the game to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s zones, but then combined.

“It was less about how big it was and more about how long it would take to drive the speeder,” Gerighty explained. “(Toshara does) four or five minutes nonstop, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but once you’re committed, it’s a significant amount and you’re always distracted.

“Assassin’s Creed Odysseythat was one of the games we looked at when we were making this, you have different zones on the map (…)(Toshara is) two or three of those zones combined together.”

It was also said that every planet in Outsiders varies in scale, but Toshara is roughly the same size as the jungle planet Akiva, but slightly smaller than the iconic planet Tatooine.

In the same interview, we also learned that the game will have a fog of war hanging over each map, with no icons or markers appearing on the maps until the player starts exploring the map.

Star Wars Bandits is scheduled to release on August 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with pre-orders available now. While Outsiders will be a single-player game, players can also expect two story expansions post-launch, including one that has already been revealed as “an exclusive Day 1 mission” called Jabba’s Gambit.
