The premiere sees Oz take a series of complicated and risky steps to fill the power vacuum in Gotham’s underworld.
In the opening scenes of the series, Oz is confronted by the heir to the Falcone crime family, Alberto Falcone (Michael Zegan).
Although he seems to be pleading with the unstable Alberto throughout the scene, he goes a bit too far and kills him quickly. That is the core of the story of Oz.
The series that many fans have compared it to was HBO’s iconic mafia series The Sopranos, as both series deal with organized crime.
