Yampsolskiy, an associate professor of computer science at the University of Louisville, conducted a “review of the scientific literature on AI” and concluded that there is no evidence that the technology can be stopped.

“If we don’t understand AI’s decisions and we only have a ‘black box’, we can’t understand the problem and reduce the chance of future accidents,” de Yampolskiy said.

The expert did share suggestions on how to limit the risks, such as designing a machine that accurately follows human commands, but Yampolskiy pointed out the possibility of conflicting commands, misinterpretation or malicious use.
