THE NOTEBOOK: Sir Jim Ratcliffe faces the media for the first time since £1.3billion investment into Man United, a nasty illness hits Tottenham as Rasmus Hojlund responds to Roy Keane criticism

Rodrigo Bentancur scored seconds into the second half to ensure Tottenham picked up a point against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s side took the lead after just three minutes through Rasmus Hojlund’s powerful strike, before Richarlison leveled the match after 19 minutes.

United took the lead again five minutes before half-time thanks to Marcus Rashford’s third Premier League goal of the season.

But Bentancur scored just seconds after the break with a powerful strike of his own.

Mail Sport’s Sami Mokbel takes a look at some of the things you might have missed during the match.

Ratcliffe looks at the media

“Hopefully we don’t find anything dodgy,” joked Sir Jim Ratcliffe as he made his first media appearance since his £1.3 billion investment in Manchester United was confirmed.

The businessman’s minority stake in United will be ratified once the Premier League completes the owners and directors test, with the INEOS owner set to waste no time trying to charm the assembled press at Old Trafford for the match against Tottenham .

Of course, it’s highly unlikely that the investigation will turn up anything “dodgy,” given Ratcliffe’s reputation as one of the most recognizable businessmen in the world, but his joke drew a lot of laughter nonetheless.

‘It’s the first game for me since we’ve been here. I’m really excited to be here,” said Ratcliffe, who named Paul Scholes and Eric Cantona as his favorite United players.

Asked whether his United ownership was the most exciting prospect of his entire business career, the 71-year-old, who was sitting next to Sir Alex Ferguson, added: ‘Correct. Yes. I’ve done some exciting things, but there’s no doubt about that. It took a few turns, as you know, but these things take some work. (It will be completed) in early to mid-February.”

A bug hits the Tottenham camp

A nasty illness spread through the Tottenham camp ahead of the match against United.

Dejan Kulusevski was the biggest victim, the Swedish midfielder having to miss the match after being struck by the bug.

‘He has been ill for the past few days. We ran it through the team and unfortunately he suffered the worst of it,” said Ange Postecoglou.

James Maddison, who is on his way to availability after a long-term injury, has also suffered from the ailment in recent days.

Littler watches from the stands

Manchester United welcomed darts sensation Luke Littler to Old Trafford for the match against Spurs.

United supporter Littler, who reached the final of the World Darts Championship earlier this month, was given a United shirt with his nickname ‘The Nuke’ and the number 180 on the back.

Littler turns 17 this week – not a bad early birthday present.

Hojlund responds to Keane

Perhaps Rasmus Hojland has caught a glimpse of Roy Keane’s pre-match comments on his United career so far.

Before the match, the £72m striker had scored just one goal in the Premier League and Keane said: ‘You can’t keep waiting for players. He doesn’t show that, he misses a lot of clear opportunities.’

Hojland didn’t keep them waiting long yesterday – just three minutes before doubling his league total with the opener.
