The next Minecraft update will add trial rooms, arriving on June 13

The next Minecraft update is on its way and is called Tricky Trials. Tricky Trials launches on June 13 for both the Bedrock and Java versions of the game, and as you may have guessed from the name, it’s about creating new challenges for the player. There are also new decorations, a new mace weapon, and a redstone-powered auto-crafter.

As part of this update, players can discover Trial Chambers, which are full of hostile mobs. There are two new creatures you can encounter here. The first is the wind, a fast-moving tornado that might just send you flying. Then there are the silted ones, which are poisonous skeletons littered with moss and mushrooms.

The challenge trials will be tricky, but the rewards are well worth it – and players can scale up the difficulty by exploring one with friends by their side. Each player gets to claim rewards from the room’s vault, and there will be plenty of cosmetics around to break down and take home to decorate a base with.

If you want to increase the difficulty even further, players can find an ominous bottle and choose to drink it. Doing so will apply a status effect called Bad Omen. This means that entering an overworld village will trigger an ominous raid, and entering a trial chamber containing Bad Omen will initiate an ominous process. These challenges feature stronger enemies with enchanted weapons – and if you defeat them you can also be rewarded with the items you need to build a new mace.

To make things easier at home, Mojang has added an autocrafter. Players can set up a redstone-powered device that automatically creates items. There are also 20 new paintings, which will be perfect for those of us who just want to create a cozy home full of beautiful art.

Don’t forget: there is one Minecraft to film Minecraft animated Netflix show in the works, so really, our cups are running over all kinds of things Minecraft.
