The kitchen seems to be the one part of the home that is often overlooked by smart lighting brands. Cync is changing that by offering homeowners an easy way to enhance their kitchens with the Smart under-cabinet fixtures.

It’s a series of LED lights that you can place under your cabinets to provide vibrant accent lighting. They are also slim and about an inch thick, giving them the flexibility to fit anywhere there is space.

Four sizes are available: 12, 18 and 24 inch edge-lit bars. These go directly onto cupboards or around furniture. However, there is a fourth option: a 3-inch round puck light.

Each device performs the same, capable of displaying up to 16 million RGB colors. White light can reach a color temperature of up to 7,000 Kelvin, allowing for optimal brightness. Of course, you can always turn the intensity of the white light down to something warmer.

GE Lighting, Cync’s parent company, has an interactive website where you can preview the different colors that come from an Undercabinet Fixture. You can see how bright the Reveal HD Plus white can get and what red, blue and green tones look like.

Specifications and features

Setting up the fixtures is quite simple. You will receive a set of “locking screws for easy DIY installation.” Additionally, each lamp comes with a 30cm long cable and users can connect up to ten different fixtures together to illuminate an entire kitchen space. That includes both the illuminated bars and the puck.

Cync devices also all come with their own power cord. Don’t worry about running out of power outlets, because each cord delivers up to 500 watts of power to the entire chain.

The company states that the four lights support both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. These connections allow users to issue commands via the official Cync app; no hub is needed.

However, if you want to issue voice commands through the Matter stand, you’ll need to purchase a smart home hub that works with Alexa or Google Assistant. The Samsung SmartThings and Apple Home apps are also compatible.

Other notable features include the ability to create schedules for outdoor lighting and controls via the Cync app.

The 12-inch Undercabinet Fixture beam is installed Amazon starts at $50.73. The puck is out of stock on the platform, but you can buy one Lowe’s website for $84.98.
