The Brooklyn Nets ended a grueling day with a loss, losing 108-99 to the Chicago Bulls just hours after the resignation of coach Steve Nash, while under fire star Kyrie Irving scored just four points throughout the game.
It means the Nets are now 2-6 as the season hit a new low on Tuesday night. Jacque Vaughn began his second stint coaching the team, but it is expected to be a short tenure after reports surfaced of Brooklyn appointing former Nets assistant and former Celtics head coach Ime Udoka as the next bench boss.
Zach LaVine scored 20 of his season-high 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Chicago Bulls rallied for a win over the struggling Nets in New York.
