Red-faced Aussies show off their major gingerbread house flaws ahead of Christmas leaving hundreds in hysterics: ‘This is my best effort’

  • They posted their attempts in a hilarious “gingerbread fail” thread online
  • And each attempt seemed worse than the last, leaving everyone laughing.

Hobbyist bakers have shown off their ill-fated attempts to create the humble gingerbread house at home before Christmas, leaving hundreds in hysterics.

And while many hoped to create an enchanting Christmas scenery, most carried a nightmare before the Christmas atmosphere.

Some blamed their children, others blamed their husbands; all we know is that very few gingerbread men made it out alive.

This person got off to a brave start, but decided that rebuilding the house wasn’t going to work for them and gave up.

Another managed to decorate each piece beautifully, but struggled to build it, so she added a tornado for good measure.

One woman summed up her family’s attempt well: “It looks more like a massacre of gummy babies.”

While another attached an image of a tornado to make it look like the colorful stack of popsicles and bread was supposed to look that way.

Home cooks posted their photos in a thread calling for gingerbread house fails.

The little boy decorating this one decided that yellow was a better color for the icing, only for the mother to confess that it looks like someone burned down the house.

This little baker couldn’t make her gingerbread roof sit right, so she created an outdoor experience and used the roof as additional walls.

And while the houses may not have lived up to the lofty standards set by Pinterest, they definitely ticked all the boxes for an epic fail reel.

Some people revealed that they tried to make their houses from scratch, biting off much more than they could chew.

Others have admitted to messing up DIY kits when all they had to do was put the pieces together.

“It looked good until the ceiling caved in,” laughed one mom over a photo of a colorful pile of crumbs.

Another mom blamed her dog for ruining this house, but managed to save it with some humorous and creative use of her son’s toys.

Most of the people struggled with the actual construction of the houses.

“First and last time, but my nine-year-old granddaughter loved helping, so it makes up for failure,” said a proud nanny.

‘Couldn’t get it to stick, too heavy,’ complained one woman.

“My daughters combined a gingerbread house with a gingerbread man to make it look like some kind of Christmas horror story,” laughed one mom.

Another crime scene: The mother couldn’t confirm if any jelly babies survived her husband’s attempt to make the iconic Christmas centerpiece.

“It looked good before the roof caved in,” said this mother, though it’s hard to see how that could be true.

‘Miss 5 thought some yellow icing would look pretty… Now it’s been added, I keep walking past him thinking someone prompted him,’ laughed another.

Some people posted their photos without explanation, only understanding that the thread was exactly where their Christmas dessert attempt belonged.
