- Fans say Artur Beterbiev is pound for pound the best boxer alive
- Beterbiev defended his WBC, IBF and WBO world titles against Callum Smith
- He remains the only boxing world champion with a 100 percent knockout ratio
Fans believe that unified light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev should be considered the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world after defeating Callum Smith on Saturday.
Beterbiev defended his WBC, IBF and WBO world titles with a seventh-round TKO victory against former world champion Smith on Saturday evening at Videotron Center in Quebec City, Canada.
The 38-year-old star remains the only boxing world champion with a 100 percent knockout ratio by handing Smith his first knockdown and injury loss.
As a result, fans believe that Beterbiev should be considered the number one pound for pound boxer in the world – claiming that a fight with him would be like wrecking an armored vehicle.
One fan took to social media after the fight and said: ‘Beterbiev should be the number 1 pound for pound boxer in the World KO’d Cloud in his sixth fight. Ko’d Gvozdyk, who scored a brutal KO win against Stevenson, did a quick job for Joe Smith who went 12 rounds with bivol, mark my words, he will KO bivol in 5 rounds.’

Another added: ‘Fighting Beterbiev would be like demolition with an armored vehicle. He just keeps bumping into you. Even the punches that would be rangefinders for other boxers land like sledgehammers. Meanwhile, anything you throw back just bounces off him. Scary.’
One fan said: ‘The most destructive boxer in the world is not Wilder or Gervonta Davis, it’s Artur Beterbiev. He kills them all. Hopefully the dummies at Ring Magazine will finally add him to the p4p list, even though he should have been there.”
Another boxing fan wrote on social media: ‘Beterbiev hits like a truck and his defense is on edge.’
Meanwhile, others discussed a possible fight with Dmitry Bivol, claiming that this is the only fight in the division that people want to see.
One fan said: ‘Bivol vs Beterbiev is the only fight we need in this division and has been for a few years. No one else comes close to any of them.”
Another added: “If Beterbiev and Bivol fight in the summer, Beterbiev should be the favorite. He has dominated every fight he has faced and the wins over Gvozdyk, Browne and the two Smiths are more than what Bivol has achieved.
After the Beterbiev fight with Smith, Bob Arum talked about a possible fight with Bivol. He said: ‘It is not done yet. But we definitely want to do it.
“I am going to talk to my friend His Excellency (Saudi advisor) Turki Alalshikh. I know he wants to do it, but… Ramadan comes.
“So about three months after the end of Ramadan, we will be ready to fight Dmitry Bivol, probably in Riyadh.”
While Beterbiev added: ‘Yes, of course (I want the Bivol fight). I need another belt. It would mean a lot to me.’
