The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur reveals the unique way he supported Sonia Kruger at the Logies

Larry Emdur made it crystal clear who he was supporting at the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday.

The Morning Show host was happy to express his wishes that night, slipping into a pair of immaculate white boxers adorned with one of his Channel Seven colleagues.

In footage shared to Instagram, the likable larrikin revealed that he got behind the network’s most woman’s hostess, Sonia Kruger.

The Dancing With The Stars host – who also helms The Voice and Big Brother – was nominated for the prestigious Gold Logie alongside Julia Morris, Hamish Blake, Leigh Sales, Mark Coles Smith, Osher Gunsberg and Shaun Micallef.

In the clip, Larry happily drops his slacks in his hotel room to reveal a pair of custom underwear featuring an image of Sonia Kruger’s face and a coveted Logie in all its brassy glory, alongside the text “On ya Sonia.”

Larry’s lucky underwear turned out to be a fluke, with Sonia taking home the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television thanks to her tireless hosting duties on Channel Seven.

Upon receiving the award, Sonia was clearly overwhelmed.

She admitted to forgetting the names of her loved ones and even brutally lashed out at Hamish Blake, last year’s Gold Logie winner.

‘I can not believe it. I have to restrain myself,’ she began breathlessly.

When she began her initiations, Sonia was speechless and unable to remember the names of her closest friends and relatives.

“I want to thank God, aka James Warburton (CEO of the Seven Network), who is a genius. My family… their names escape me. They know who they are,’ she continued.

‘No, I’m kidding! My mom, Deb, happy birthday tomorrow. My brother, of course, Craig and my daughter Maggie and if my dad was here he would just be so proud and this is really for him,” she added.

During her speech, she also mentioned Hamish Blake, the host of Channel Nine’s Lego Masters, with whom she shares an agent.

Sonia let slip that their agent had jokingly told her, “Frankly, I hope (Hamish) will leave the station so I can focus all my efforts on you, Sonia.”

The cameras then switched to a confused-looking Hamish, who sat in the audience next to his wife Zoë Foster Blake.

Elsewhere, Sonia explained how much it means to her to be a television presenter.

“I was walking around and there’s a mural and it says hosting isn’t about what you do, it’s about how you make other people feel. And I thought, that’s so true,” she said, crying.

“And tonight guys, all your support, you made me feel good.”

She concluded, “I don’t know what else to say. So many people to thank and so little time. I’ll be sending apologies to everyone I didn’t thank tonight. Go party, have fun. Thank you, thank you, thank you.’
