Monarch: Legacy of MonstersApple’s live action Godzilla series, will officially make its way to the company’s streaming platform in November.

Confirmed at the end of the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action drama series, the first ever US developed Godzilla The TV show debuts on Friday, November 17 on one of the world’s top streaming services. It will launch on that date with a two-episode premiere, with subsequent entries releasing weekly until the finale on Friday, January 12, 2024.

After a game Monarch: Legacy of Monsters The first images arrived in mid-August, we expected a teaser to appear online at some point. And after countless teases on Apple TV Plus’ social media channels lately, we finally have some footage to mull over. Watch the trailer below:

With a name like Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, we’ll see a lot more Kaiju than just Godzilla himself. The series, which seems to tie in with that of 2014 Godzilla and 2017 Kong: Skull Island – we see his Bill Randa (John Goodman) in the teaser – gives us a brief look at Rodan and Skull Island‘s gigantic spider-like creatures. So we can expect this series to give us that some Titan-on-Titan action to enjoy, as well as more information about the Monsterverse itself.

For those who missed the plot synopsis of the series in the aforementioned Monarch: Legacy of Monsters article about the first images, here it is again: “After the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco (in the 2014 battle Godzilla), and the shocking revelation that monsters really exist, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters follows two siblings who follow in their father’s footsteps to discover their family’s connection to the secret organization known as Monarch.

“Clues lead them into the world of monsters and eventually down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), set in the 1950s and half a century later, where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals hidden secrets and the ways in which epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”

Here is the hope Monarch: Legacy of Monsters can live up to the Monsterverse legacy and install itself as one of the best Apple TV Plus shows out there. And who knows? Perhaps we’ll learn a bit more about it from Apple’s entertainment division during the Apple September 2023 event, when the company is expected to unveil its new iPhone.

Chris Black, whose previous works include Star Trek: Enterprise And Masterminds, co-wrote and executive produced the show with Marvel comics writer Matt Fraction. Another Marvel almunus – MCU director Matt Shakman, who directed WandaVision on Disney Plus – has directed Monarchthe first two episodes. Shakman, Joby Harold (Obi Wan Kenobi), and Tory Tunnell (Robin Hood) are also part of the executive production team. Toho, who created the Godzilla character, is also represented on the executive producer team by Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita.

The next six to eight months promise to be a great time Godzilla fan. Next Monarch: Legacy of MonstersThe legendary Kaiju will also star in one of Japan’s new 2023 films called Godzilla Minus onewhich debuts on November 1. The fifth Monsterverse film entry will be released in early 2024 – Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire – will also make its way to cinemas.
