‘The Missing Owner’ side quest steps in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
“The missing owner‘ is a side mission that you should not ignore The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As you wander around Gerudo Town after completing the main quest “Riju of Gerudo Town”, local people appear on the streets asking for help.
“The Missing Owner” in particular is quite a complicated quest as you are tasked with defeating a Molduga in order to rescue an NPC. That said, the rewards are worth it – the Molduga has great materials to use in Fuse combos, and completing the quest will give you the chance to craft the Scimitar of the Seven, arguably one of the best weapons in the game.
If you’re looking for tips on how to beat the Molduga or if you’re just curious about how to get started, you can find the steps below for the quest for “The Missing Owner”.
Search steps ‘The missing owner’
There are two main parts The missing owner – sees the first one you chat with Carawho is in the jewelry store in Gerudo Town, and the second is to save Isha from the Molduga at the Toruma Dunes.
How to start the quest ‘The Missing Owner’
After you finish the Lightning Temple, new missions become available in Gerudo Town. As you enter the jewelry store at the coordinates (-3831, -2879, 0044), you will find Cara. The character tries to find Isha, the owner, who was last seen around the Toruma Dunes.
Before you leave to find the shop owner, Cara warns you that the area is known as the home of the molduga – a huge creature that swims under the sand and quickly gives chase when you get close to it.
Like any enemy, the Molduga has a particular weakness that you can exploit as part of your strategy for the encounter.
Find Isha
As we mentioned, Isha is stranded in the Toruma Dunes. The spot is around the coordinates (-4765, -2828, 0029.)
You will be able to see it from a distance – Isha is standing on a rock, next to a campfire that emits a smoke signal.
Now you can either talk to Isha first and then go to the Molduga, or vice versa. Anyway, as soon as you get close, the Molduga will chase you.
How to save Isha
Isha is chased by a Molduga. While safe where she is, she cannot return to the store until the miniboss is defeated. If you need to prepare yourself in advance, you are free to go elsewhere and return later.
Molduga is a sneaky miniboss in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The creature spends most of its time under the sand, cruising around until something – or someone – catches its attention. Then he will quickly move towards his target and try to eat it, providing a window for a counterattack.
As terrifying as it sounds, that’s also the main strategy of the encounter. To beat molduga, you have to have the perfect bait for it. Visit our dedicated page for a step-by-step breakdown of how to beat Molduga.
Once the Molduga encounter is settled, Isha automatically starts a convo to thank Link. Then she goes back, and you should too – after grabbing some really hefty monster parts from the miniboss.
Go back to Cara
Return to the jewelry store in Gerudo Town and talk to Cara. She will also express her thanks, and the search will be over.
The missing owner reward
Cara will give you a diamond for your troubles. This comes in handy, as you’ll be presented with a second quest called “Pride of the Gerudo” afterwards. For this you can exchange 10 flint, 4 diamonds and both a Gerudo Scimitar and a Gerudo Shield for the Scimitar of the Seven, as well as the Daybreaker shield.
You will also get some rewards from the Molduga battle. For example, I have Molduga Guts (1 Fuse attack power, good for recipes), Molduga fin (12 Fuse attack power), Molduga Jaw (32 Fuse attack power), and both a Gerudo Bow and a Royal Broadsword from the chests. As usual, remember that the last two are random!
