Microsoft has finalized Surface Hub 3, its latest all-in-one meeting display designed for real-time collaboration and video conferencing.
Headlining the announcement is the ability for the 50-inch model to physically rotate and for the screen to automatically adjust, making the experience much more like traditional Flipchart collaboration.
A larger, landscape-only 85-inch model will also be available, which is more focused on meetings in larger conference rooms while still offering the same collaboration features.

Microsoft says the ability for the smaller model to rotate to both portrait and landscape modes will allow for “natural whiteboard session(s)” and “more personal one-on-one conversations.”
The 50-inch model is also compatible with both wall brackets and a set of wheels. Connect the latter to the APC Charge Mobile Battery for approximately two hours of on-the-go access in every corner of the office.
The 4K display supports 20-point multitouch and can work with two Surface Hub Pens or Surface Slim Pens simultaneously, but what’s most notable is the fact that it works with other Microsoft Teams Rooms-certified peripherals, including external microphones, speakers, and cameras so it can actually work. suitable for the correct setup.
Microsoft has been quiet on the component side, but does promise a 60% increase in CPU performance and a 160% increase in GPU graphics performance.
These improvements will be most noticeable for those who want to take full advantage of the AI features in Teams, including the way the app handles videos to select individual speakers. Eligible users can also use Copilot in Whiteboard on the new Surface Hub 3.
Prices haven’t been confirmed yet, but with outgoing versions costing around $9,000 / £9,000 / AU$14,000 for the 50-inch screen and $22,000 / £21,500 / AU$33,000 for the 85-inch screen, it certainly won’t be a cheap impulse buy for many companies.
