The Matildas team up with Nike to launch a new goalkeeper jersey – and Pink receives the first one
Australian football legends The Matildas have teamed up with Nike to launch a new goalkeeper shirt that’s in stores now – and a world-famous singer got the first one.
US pop star Pink, 44, who is currently touring Australia, and her daughter Willow, 12, were presented with personalized purple jerseys by Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams in Melbourne.
‘This is great, I will wear it with pride. It says Pink and it’s number one,β an elated Pink said in a video.
Williams said she was thrilled that one of her favorite singers was such a big fan of women’s sports.
βShe grabbed it right away. She said, “These are sick.” βShe loves Australia, Australians and supporting women’s sport,β she said The Sydney Morning Herald.

“When she realized it was about the World Cup and the first release of the jerseys, there was excitement… She’s smiling big in the photo, so she’s definitely excited about it.”
The Matildas had phenomenal success at the Women’s World Cup last year.
The sweaters went on sale on Tuesday and are available for both men and women.
It comes after Pink – born Alecia Beth Moore – was left completely speechless by a fan’s highly X-rated proposal at her Summer Carnival show in Melbourne this weekend.

She was talking to fans in the crowd at Marvel Stadium when she noticed a woman holding up a sign to get her attention.
The star admitted she was shocked when she read the note addressed to herself and husband Carey Hart.
Pink told the crowd, “That sign says ‘you, me and Carey threesome?’ I don’t know what to say! I’m not often speechless.’
She seemed to see the funny side of the proposal when she reshared a video of the exchange on her Instagram after the show.
The superstar has been busy traveling around Australia for her in-demand shows and will take the stage in Adelaide on Tuesday night.
She is joined Down Under by her off-road truck racer husband Carey, 48, and their children Willow and Jameson, seven.
Pink has long considered Australia a second home and said she was “exploring” possible citizenship in February 2023.
