Sam Kerr’s girlfriend will be front and center to cheer on the Matildas in the first-ever Women’s World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

And it’s not hard to see why Kristie Mewis won the heart of Australia’s football golden girl.

Flaunting both sporting prowess and stunning looks, the 32-year-old American midfielder has never been afraid to show off her incredible physique on social media.

Mewis works hard to maintain her ultra-fit physique and is an ambassador for the nutritional supplement brand Six Star Pro.

Resurfaced photos on her Instagram page show the blonde midfielder looking ripped in tiny bikinis, lounging by the pool or posing on the beach.

Mewis can also be seen in another image posing on a hotel balcony in a white bikini top with lace detailing and a blue thong thong.

It comes as Kerr prepares to take on Mewis’ ex, Lioness star Rachel Daly, in the Matildas’ Women’s World Cup semi-final against England on Wednesday.

Mewis dated England star Daly prior to her relationship with Kerr after meeting teammates.

Their friendship blossomed into a romantic partnership in November 2017, adding an extra layer of intrigue to their on-field chemistry.

After two years together, Mewis and Daly decided to separate and keep the reasons behind their divorce private.

Despite this, they remained teammates until 2021.

The American found love again after meeting Chelsea superstar Kerr while playing for rival clubs in the American league in 2019.

They spoke online for nearly four months during the 2020 Covid lockdown before spending two weeks in quarantine together where they quickly fell in love.

The pair continued their romance ahead of the 2021 Olympics, where they were photographed together after America’s semi-final defeat to Australia.

Their on-field embrace made headlines as Kerr’s breakup with her former longtime partner – another American club player Nikki Stanton – had not yet been made public.

After nearly two years into their high-profile love story, Kerr and Mewis have emerged as one of the football power couples and have made the decision to be “out and proud” in both the queer and straight communities.

Their global romance has also been widely documented on social media with both women amassing hundreds of thousands of followers.

“We are not private individuals. I like to share my story. I like to share who I am outside of football. Football is 5 percent of my life,” Kerr told the British publication gafferearlier this year.

“We set little milestones and we set aside time during the week to watch the same show and FaceTime or have dinner together or something. But it is difficult.

“I think what keeps us going is that we can see an end point. We both just want each other to do so well in our careers. I don’t think you could have a long-distance relationship with someone who doesn’t understand the sport.”

Mewis said it was special for the couple to be role models for gay women who are not coming out for fear of homophobic abuse or society’s rejection.

“I think if we’re just dating and being two girls in love, I think if we can change one or two people’s lives and the way they feel about each other and how comfortable they feel, that means a lot to me . I like to share my relationship on social media,” said the American star.

Kerr revealed her biggest concern since entering her relationship with Mewis.

“What worries me the most is that our coaches or teammates don’t think we can separate the two. I hope people know that when it’s practice time or game time, it doesn’t come in,” Kerr said.

“I remember one time in Newcastle (Australia) when she filled in, we played against each other and we went against each other. We would kill each other. But I worry that people think we don’t take our careers seriously.’

“We did play a game against each other, but I thought her team was crazy. When I play, I’m such a helmsman and she (Mewis) got so mad,” Kerr said.
