Horrifying moment when a huge pine tree appears to fall BOOM on visitors watching The Masters at Augusta National…as play is halted amid electrical storms
This is the terrifying moment when a huge fir tree appeared to fall on visitors watching The Masters at Augusta National shortly before play was halted on Friday.
The scary moment occurred next to the 17th green during the second round of the tournament amid electrical storms in the area.
Live TV broadcasts saw the tree land in the crowd and it is currently unclear if anyone was injured in the horrific incident.
As the tree topples over, the TV commentary team can be heard yelling, “Ooh good gracious, watch out! Oh my god I hope everyone is okay. Holy smoke.’
The trees around that portion of the track are believed to be Loblolly Pines, which can reach 100 to 120 feet in height.
