Nintendo has revealed that Princess Zelda will star in the newly announced game. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Instead of brandishing the iconic Master Sword, Zelda wields the Tri Rod, a magical tool that allows her to replicate items and creatures from the larger environment. Now Zelda can summon anything from a wooden table to a monster to explore the world, solve puzzles and battle.
Using materials in unexpected ways isn’t exactly something new for fans of The Legend of Zelda. If anything, it’s the sandbox elements of Tears of the Kingdom this way of playing has already been pushed to its limits. From a pile of tree trunks to a frozen piece of meat could be viable materials for building crazy structures. However, Echoes of wisdom revives the charm and humor of using unconventional tools to save Hyrule. It’s especially amazing to think of how the princess aggressively saves Link from death using nothing but a chair and a kitchen table.
Now fans have filled X with posts and fan art celebrating the main character and her new set of magical powers. This first work of art portrays the enormous potential of ‘table power’, but you can scroll further to see more.
Based on the gameplay demonstration shown on Tuesday, Zelda must first be able to see and scan an item with her fishing rod before she can replicate it. I don’t think there are any weapons in Hyrule, but that doesn’t stop fans from imagining what could happen if she could create one.
Part of the trailer showed Zelda carrying a sizable rock, so much of the art reinterprets the moment when the little princess picks up the big rock.
And if good old nonsense and memes are your game, there are plenty of those already. Here are two of the funniest we found.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released on Nintendo Switch on September 26.
