The lavish lifestyle of Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann that brought them to the brink of bankruptcy

The lavish lifestyle of former real life Atlanta housewife Kim Zolciak-Biermann may be in its final chapter as she and husband Kroy Biermann filed for divorce earlier this week amid potential foreclosure on their Georgia home and more than $1 million in back taxes.

In February 2023, the Bravo star’s mansion in Georgia – where her husband of more than a decade has reportedly not lived in months – was confirmed to be foreclosure, although a recent foreclosure auction was cancelled.

Despite obvious and seemingly major financial problems facing Zolciak, 44, she and her family — including her two eldest daughters — have continued to advertise their lavish life even as the walls close in.

DailyMail.com takes a look at the extravagant life of Kim Zolciak and her clan, including a collection of luxury cars, a decked out mansion, expensive jewelry, travel, designer bags and clothing.

History

Kim Zolciak first became a public figure in 2008, when Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered. Zolciak was an original cast member and later got her own spin-off series from the network, which ran for eight seasons.

Notably, at the time of the first show’s premiere, Zolciak was dating a married man, whom she identified on the show only as “Big Poppa.” It seemed that he was financing Zolciak’s costly lifestyle, which included providing for her two daughters – Brielle and Arianna.

She eventually divorced Big Poppa after he gave her a large engagement ring, when she discovered he was not divorced.

After the split, Kim, who identifies as bisexual, dated DJ Tracy Young for a while.

Zolciak, who has also released several singles over the years — including “Don’t Be Tardy to the Party” — met her future husband, then-Atlanta Falcons player Kroy Biermann, 37, at a local celebrity charity event in 2010 .

Zolciak and Biermann documented their wedding preparation and planning process in Bravo’s “Don’t Be Tardy to the Wedding,” a precursor to the family’s future reality show.

The high-maintenance blonde famously wore not one, but three different wedding dresses for the $1 million event. One of the dresses cost $58,000 and weighed 32 pounds. She later changed into a mermaid style dress, which was purchased for $18,000. And her last look was a $16,000 white jumpsuit.

Biermann legally adopted Zolciak’s two daughters, and the couple also have four more children of their own together.

Much to the shock and surprise of her fans and followers, it was reported on May 8, 2023 that Zolciak had filed for divorce from Biermann after eleven years of marriage. Prior to filing, it was revealed by TMZ that the couple owes $1.1 million in unpaid taxes to the state of Georgia and the US federal government.

A source close to the family told People magazine that “the money has been a huge problem” and the “million dollar tax.” [payment] was just way too much pressure on them.’

The pair are reportedly not on cordial terms.

Property

Throughout her time documenting her life on reality television, Zolciak’s $2.6 million Alpharetta, Georgia mansion has figured prominently in her image.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann once considered themselves the “king and queen” of their five-bedroom Georgia mansion, which boasted a large “staff,” Versace dinnerware, and even a bling “Hollywood” room.

The Don’t Be Tardy stars initially bought the house in 2012 for $880,000, and it currently costs between $2.5 and $2.6 million, according to TMZ.

The 6,900-square-foot home also includes a pool with hot tub, waterfall spa, basketball court, and built-in elevator.

In February, it was reported that Zolciak and Biermann had defaulted on a $1.65 million loan, according to a notice from Fulton County, and that the property would be seized.

As those rumors spread, Zolciak continued to show her 3.4 million Instagram followers what life in her huge childhood home was like.

Shortly after the foreclosure report leaked, Zolciak gave her followers a tour of a game room in her home that was decorated in neon colors and filled with 1990s arcade and tabletop games.

The tour also included the home’s cinema room and several rooms filled to the brim with only clothes, shoes, and bags.

Since the foreclosure was first reported, Zolciak has repeatedly claimed the situation was a “misunderstanding” with a bank that has now been resolved.

In November last year, Zolciak posted a video to her Instagram stories, denying the foreclosure of her home.

“Okay guys, my house didn’t sell for $257,000. If you guys think I would rent out my house that we put millions and millions of dollars into for $257,000, you’re an idiot, okay? Really,’ she said.

cars

Zolciak has long loved an expensive car. Over the years, she has regularly showed off her car collection to her followers, often flashing an image of her long and painted nails over the wheel of a new car.

The Zolciak-Biermann family was always shown driving a ramp of luxury vehicles throughout the various seasons of their various reality shows.

While it’s unclear what kind and how many cars Kim and Kroy respectively still own, they’ve all been pictured in luxury elevators in the past.

Kim has been shown driving a Mercedes G-Class, which has a starting price of $139,900, and that’s at the lower end of her collection. She has also driven a Bentley GT convertible (usually around $240,000 when bought new) and a Rolls Royce Cullinan, which has a starting price well into the $300,000 range.

Prior to the divorce announcement, Kim and Kroy often posed in front of their expensive car collection on their way to date nights.

A few years ago, Kim’s eldest daughter, Brielle, traded her jeep for a black Range Rover – the it car of the moment.
