The latest Walking Dead series will see Rick and Michonne brought back to life next month
Just like the zombies – um, sorry hikers – it is about, The living Dead franchise will never die. But now we focus on Those who live — specifically, in this case, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), in their new spin-off series.
That’s right! After his presumed death at the end of season 9 (and brief appearance in the show’s final season), Rick is back!
This would be the sixth spin-off show, if you’re keeping track, to follow Fear the walking dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Stories of the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Dead CityAnd The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
AMC is framing Those who live like everything about Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and their love story. As the official description puts it:
The Walking Dead: Those Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable force. By the spirits of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world built on a war against the dead… and ultimately a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike anything before? Are they enemies? Enthusiasts? Victims? Victors? Will they still live without each other – or will they discover that they too are the Walking Dead?
Yes! Some good news: Terry O’Quinn (Lost) is there.
The show starts sometime after they both leave The living Dead. In the show’s 10th season, Michonne split from the main group to search for Rick, after finding his boots on an island and scratching a drawing of herself and Rick’s daughter on the back of an iPhone. The iPhone appears in the trailer for a while, although most of the trailer consists of the star-crossed lovers doing cool, badass zombie killing stuff.
Those who live premieres February 25 on AMC and AMC Plus.
